Last year I saw online these adorable little suitcase gift boxes at the Dollar Tree. They were available in 3 different sizes. However, I couldn’t find them in my local stores until this past fall. I asked my local store and they claimed it was normally out around Father’s Day but here is the bar code number: 639277520654. So perhaps you could order them in store. With the number and the description of the box they should be able to order them for you. I couldn’t locate them on the website.

Yes, this is yet another project I have been sitting on since October. *Yells “curse ye, busy season!”
Well that is not entirely true; while I love having something to work on and being busy (idle hands and all) I just would like to have had bit better balance this past few months.
All work and no play makes for a very tired unfun Sarah. When Sarah gets over tired, Sarah gets upset. When Sarah gets upset people…miss how fun she is, and that’s just plain sad.
SEE, fun Sarah is witty and playful (if I do say so myself)…tired Sarah reads ’til she falls asleep.
Anyway, back to the cute little boxes. I had originally planned on making these little Hogwarts themed boxes for Valentine gifts, but they would make adorable little gifts at anytime. These are absolutely perfect for Easter baskets or stocking stuffers.
Each sized box can hold different amounts of goodies, so the sort of filling material I will leave to your own desire and imagination. Perhaps a tiny owl, cat, or toad, mini books, candies, little games, gifts, etc… whatever will fit really. You could use virtually any theme you like in tons of different ways.
Well let’s start by sprucing them up a bit. I began with putting a fancy “H” inside a shield, with yellow or gold vinyl on it.
Donations are appreciated, but not expected. They go towards craft supplies and site maintenance in order to help bring more fantastic content.
Of course, you could choose your favorite house crest, but I am happy with the “H” crest. You could just add a sticker applique like the ones we used for the little house themed potion bottle Christmas ornaments. If you go with this option, just resize the image to whatever size you like, or create your own, or grab some letter stickers, which they now carry at most of the Dollar Tree stores.
You could freehand a design if you want, or use the template here. Apply vinyl, sticker whichever you pick and fill the box up! (I used some scrap pieces of vinyl from my stash)
